Swimming, Pavilions & Parks
Wintergreen property owners and their guests can enjoy two swimming pools–
• Chestnut Springs on the mountain
and
• Rodes Farm in the valley.
The two pools are in well-landscaped settings and offer large pavilions which can be reserved for private parties .
Both sites have playgrounds for children.
WPOA’s Rodes Farm also has a park with picnic tables, a pond, a joint pickleball and tennis court and horseshoes as well, plus an archery range managed by the Wintergreen Sporting Club.
Upon entry to the Chestnut Springs and Rodes Farm pool property owners and guests will need to provide a valid picture ID for verification.
Beginning in 2024 “Owner Passes” and “Guest Passes” (plastic) are no longer valid and will no longer be the source of entry for the Chestnut Springs and Rodes Farm pool. Please discard any that you may have. Property owners can access the pools by presenting a photo ID.
Six guests per property may access the pool. Example: one owner and five guests can use the pool, two owners and four guests, or six unaccompanied guests. The limit on persons using WPOA pools per property is limited to six (regardless of whether an owner or guest).
Unaccompanied guests (up to 6) may use the pool from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. daily.
WPOA recognizes owners renting their property might not have all guest names. Please complete the form below using the information you have. Pool staff can correct/confirm guest information upon checking in at each pool.
Sherando Lake Recreation Area
Just 15 minutes from the Wintergreen mountain gatehouse [map], this US Forest Service park first opened in 1936. It offers picnic tables in shaded and woody areas along with swimming on the sandy beach of a 25-acre spring-fed lake. There are sites for tent camping and most any type of RV. Access to multiple hiking trails and rustic architecture is a key feature. The park offers miles of stocked trout waters and two large fishing lakes. Details here.
