The 2024 Wintergreen Trout Tournament on the Trout Pond in Stoney Creek held on Saturday, May 4, starts at 8:30 am and ends at 11:30 am; prizes will be awarded at noon. No pre-registration is needed. The fish stocked for this event, now in its sixth year, are in the 14-to-20-inch range and may weigh up to 6 pounds. The Wintergreen Property Owners Association and the Wintergreen Sporting Club co-sponsor the tournament.
Outdoor fires present a serious hazard at Wintergreen for several reasons. The fact that much of this community is within a mature forest is just one reason carefully managing fire pits, fireplaces, and outdoor grills has to be the job of every property owner and guest at Wintergreen. The guidelines for outdoor “recreational fires” at Wintergreen have two primary objectives–embers must be trapped from escaping and no combustible materials can be located nearby
